We are very excited to announce that Side will be the lead sponsor for Westminster Games Week 2026, the leading UK games industry policy event, organised by Ukie.
Westminster Games Week is a critical moment for Side and our fellow industry peers to meet with the government and share insights on the games industry. We’ll be hosting our very own roundtable on demystifying games on Tuesday 9th of June to demonstrate the vast number of jobs, skills, and people that make the creation of a single game possible.
As a co-development studio and services provider, our teams have a holistic view of game creation, from initial ideation and storyboarding, through to casting actors and recording, QA testing, localizing, and certification testing to make a game truly global. The roundtable will be an opportunity for MPs and policy makers to learn more about how game development works in the UK currently, what the challenges are for different players, and crucially, what could drive growth.
In addition to our roundtable discussion, we’ll also be showcasing the practical side of game development with our incredible audio team, who will be running a facial mocap demo onsite to demonstrate the intricate work that goes into the perfect cutscene. Across the week, we are most looking forward to meeting new and old friends to chat about what we know best: games.
As a team, we are delighted to have this opportunity to support our industry and help to elevate the incredible work that is delivered by our community every day. Games now generate more revenue than music and film combined, but there are gaps in funding, education, and support that are making it difficult for British developers to break through. We are grateful for this opportunity to open the conversation and lend our experience and knowledge to help shape the industry for the future.
